Host Akaunting without installing anything

Quotes, recurring invoices, expenses and bank reconciliation for a small business, in several currencies and across several companies at once.

Starting at €8.99/month

Introduction

Akaunting installed, updated and backed up by us, on a machine in France. Accounting and invoicing for small organisations: estimates, recurring invoices, expense tracking, bank reconciliation and tax reports, multi-currency and multi-company. You install nothing and configure no server: the application is online a few minutes after you order, under your own name.

The plan that suits it is App Confort at €8.99/month incl. VAT — 4 GB of memory, against a theoretical minimum of 1 GB. Akaunting is a Laravel application backed by MariaDB: every page goes through PHP-FPM, recurring invoices and outgoing mail run through a queue, and PDF generation takes its share. We would rather quote the plan that holds up on a busy month-end than the one that fits on paper.

Migration happens through spreadsheets: customers, vendors, items, invoices and transactions import from CSV or XLSX files, starting from the column template Akaunting hands you. The same data comes back out in the same format, and the MariaDB database stays yours — you leave with the lot, without asking anyone.

What managed hosting changes

Estimates, invoices and recurring billing

An accepted estimate becomes an invoice without retyping anything. Recurring invoices are created and sent on the due date on their own, and the customer portal lets your clients read their documents and pay online.

Expenses, transfers and bank reconciliation

Every expense is entered with its receipt attached, transfers between accounts are tracked, and line-by-line reconciliation finally tells you why the software balance and the bank balance did not agree.

Several currencies, several companies

One installation carries several companies, each with its own accounts, documents and users. Exchange rates update automatically, and every invoice keeps the rate of the day it was issued.

Roles instead of a shared password

Bookkeeper, salesperson, director: each with an account and permissions. The bookkeeper sees the ledger without touching prices, the salesperson issues estimates without reaching the tax reports.

Why hand it over rather than install it

A tradesperson leaving the paper invoice book behind

The estimate goes out by email from the software, the client accepts it, it turns into a numbered invoice straight away, and the reminder fires once the due date passes.

A consultant billing in euros and dollars

Each client keeps its currency, each invoice keeps the rate of its issue date, and the income statement stays readable in the company currency.

A director running two entities

Two companies live on the same installation, with separate charts of accounts, separate numbering and separate reports — one subscription, two sets of books.

An association answering to its members

Membership fees as income, costs as expenses, receipts attached: when the annual financial report comes round, the summary comes out in two clicks instead of being rebuilt in a spreadsheet.

An agency with monthly retainers

Recurring invoices go out on their own on the first of the month, the customer portal collects payment, and the unpaid list shrinks to real exceptions rather than forgotten sends.

An organisation keeping its billing data in France

The instance runs in our own infrastructure in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, and the automatic backup kept for 14 days restores from the client area.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, through spreadsheets. For each section — customers, vendors, items, invoices, transactions — Akaunting offers a column template to download, fill from your old tool's export, then import back as CSV or XLSX. The same screens export again, which makes the migration verifiable before you switch for good.

For everyday use, yes: continuous numbering, legal mentions, VAT, tax reports. But to be clear: it is an international product, it does not produce Factur-X documents and it is not a certified invoicing software under French rules. If you invoice many French business customers, Dolibarr sits closer to local practice.

The Akaunting core is open source, and that is what we install: invoicing, expenses, banking, reports, multi-company, multi-currency. Some publisher modules — double-entry accounting, inventory, payroll, extra payment gateways — are sold separately on their marketplace. You can buy them yourself and we will install them on your instance.

Nothing. You choose the application, fill in the two or three fields it asks for, and it goes online; the address and credentials arrive by email. The recommended plan for Akaunting is App Confort, at €8.99/month incl. VAT with 4 GB of memory, and it can be changed later without reinstalling.

Yes, they are part of the service. A self-hosted application left un-updated is a security risk, not a saving — and on software that holds your invoices, that is not up for debate. Version upgrades are applied and checked by us, with a backup kept for 14 days to roll back.
