Report content or abuse
By-Hoster actively fights the illegal use of its infrastructure. This form is the official channel to notify us of abusive content, services or behaviour hosted on our servers. Every report receives a tracking number and is reviewed by our team.
Life-threatening emergency or serious ongoing offence
If anyone is in immediate danger, call 112 (EU emergency number). For child sexual abuse material or terrorist content, also report it to PHAROS, the French Ministry of the Interior platform — we systematically forward such reports to the competent authorities.
Report to PHAROS (internet-signalement.gouv.fr)Is this the right channel?
- Yes, if the content is hosted on a By-Hoster IP address or domain.
- No, for sales enquiries, a technical issue on your own service, or a support request.
In that case, use the contact form or your client area.
How your report is handled
1 You notify us
You describe the facts and give their exact location. A tracking number is issued to you immediately.
2 We qualify
Our abuse team verifies the content really sits on our infrastructure and assesses whether it is manifestly illegal.
3 We act
Depending on severity: formal notice to the customer, content suspension, service suspension, referral to the authorities.
4 You are informed
You receive the reasoned decision and the action taken, in line with Article 16 of the DSA.

Frequently asked questions
No. Every report is reviewed by a human. Immediate removal only happens for manifestly unlawful content (child sexual abuse material, terrorist propaganda, live phishing). Otherwise the customer is served formal notice and given time to respond or remove the content themselves.
Your name and contact details may be passed to the customer concerned, since they must be able to defend themselves. We never disclose them for sensitive criminal categories (child abuse material, terrorism, harassment) or where disclosure would put the reporter at risk. Say so in the description if you believe this applies to you.
EU law requires contact details so we can send you the reasoned decision, and French law requires the notifier's identity for a notification to have legal effect. A report without verifiable contact details is still reviewed if the facts are serious, but it does not start the statutory clock and you will receive no feedback.
We tell you so explicitly and, where identifiable, point you to the host actually responsible. Check beforehand with a whois on the domain or IP — it will save you time.
Three years from closure of the case, as evidence and to track repeat offenders, then deletion. You may request access, rectification or erasure of your data at any time by quoting your tracking number.
Yes. Any restriction is notified to the customer with its grounds and the internal redress options, in line with Articles 17 and 20 of the DSA. A decision can be reversed if the challenge is well-founded — you would be informed.
