Windows Server 2022 Standard ships with 2 concurrent administrative RDP sessions by default. For more concurrent users in application RDP mode, you need to add Microsoft RDS CAL licences (Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licence). Our support can quote those additional licences.
Yes. Windows Server 2022 Standard lets you install Active Directory Domain Services, DNS Server, Hyper-V (up to 2 VMs), IIS and every built-in server role. SQL Server needs its own licence (Express is free, Standard and Enterprise are paid Microsoft SKUs).
Anything: .NET Framework 4.8 (pre-installed), .NET 6/7/8 (LTS and current), Visual C++ Runtimes, ASP.NET Core. Install via Windows Update, Server Manager or direct Microsoft download. PowerShell 5.1 and 7.x are available.
Windows Update is on by default. To schedule reboots: Settings > Windows Update > Active Hours or through local group policy. Our support recommends a weekly scheduled reboot outside production hours. Daily server backups included, kept for 7 days.
Microsoft minimum: 2 GB RAM (8 GB with Desktop Experience). Realistic for production: 4 GB for light roles (DNS, simple web), 8 GB for SQL Server Express or moderate IIS, 16 GB for Active Directory + business apps, 32 GB for heavy mixed scenarios. Windows uses more RAM than Linux at equivalent function.
