Install Pelican Panel in 1 Click on a By-Hoster VPS

Pelican Panel — the modern successor to Pterodactyl — installed almost instantly: PHP, database, Docker, web server and SSL configured automatically. Generate your command below, paste it into your VPS, and your game-server panel is ready in minutes.

What is Pelican Panel?

Pelican Panel is a free, open-source web control panel to create and manage game servers and applications inside isolated Docker containers. It is a community fork of Pterodactyl, built by former contributors: the same proven architecture, but a modernised codebase (PHP 8.3+, redesigned UI) and above all a web-based installation wizard that makes setup far easier.

Like Pterodactyl, Pelican has two parts: the Panel (the web interface to create servers, manage users, permissions and "eggs" — server templates) and Wings (the daemon that actually launches the Docker containers on the node). Each server runs isolated, with capped resources (CPU, RAM, disk) and a real-time web console.

What is it for?

Isolated multi-server

Run several services (game servers, bots, apps) on one VPS, each in its own container, without clashing.

Installation wizard

Pelican's edge: a guided web installer checks prerequisites, configures the database and creates the admin account — no editing files.

Live console & resources

Real-time web console, restart, logs, CPU/RAM graphs and per-server limits, all from the browser.

Docker isolation

Each server is sandboxed in a container: a crash or flaw on one does not affect the others.

Why do it in 1 click at By-Hoster?

Even with Pelican's wizard, preparing the server means installing PHP 8.3+ and extensions, a database, Docker, a web server (nginx/Caddy), Wings and the SSL certificate. Our install script checks your system, installs and configures everything automatically. It is reserved for By-Hoster VPS: it only runs from our IP ranges, which guarantees an environment tested and supported by our team.

Requirements: a By-Hoster VPS on Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04, 4 GB RAM minimum — our entry-level VPS offer.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, Pelican is open-source and 100% free, like Pterodactyl. You only pay for the VPS that hosts it.

Both share the same architecture (Panel + Wings + Docker). Pelican is the modern, actively developed fork with a newer codebase and a web-based installation wizard. For a new project in 2026, Pelican is the recommended choice.

A VPS on Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04 with at least 4 GB RAM — exactly our entry-level VPS offer. Those 4 GB leave room for the panel plus a first game server.

No, it is optional. Without a domain, the panel is reachable via your VPS IP over HTTP. With a domain (DNS pointing to your VPS), the script installs a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate automatically for HTTPS.

No. It is reserved for By-Hoster VPS: it checks the command runs from our IP ranges. That is how we guarantee a tested environment and can support you.
