The documentation for an open-source project almost always opens with the same line: "prerequisites: a Linux server, Docker and a domain name". For most people the reading stops there — not for lack of will, but because what follows is a profession.

By-Hoster managed applications take the problem from the other end. You pick the software from a catalogue of 82 applications, fill in two or three fields — usually an email address and a name — and the application is online a few minutes later over HTTPS, on your own subdomain.

From €2.99/month incl. VAT. Everything is driven from the client area: start, stop, restart, logs, resource usage, configuration variables, backups, custom domain and reinstallation. No terminal, no SSH access, no command to remember.

What we take on

The installation

The software, its dependencies and its database are deployed together, in a tested configuration. You compose nothing yourself.

The updates

Version upgrades are applied and checked by us. This is where self-hosting most often fails, and it is precisely what you are delegating.

The backups

Automatic backups, plus a snapshot taken before every reinstallation. Restoring is triggered from the client area, with no ticket.

The certificate and the network

HTTPS issued and renewed automatically, the application isolated in its own unprivileged container, the database unreachable from outside.

What "managed" does not mean

Managed does not mean we write your content, configure your business rules or train your users. We run the machine and the software; the use of it stays yours.

Managed does not mean "anything is possible" either. You have no SSH access and you cannot install an arbitrary module inside the container. That is the price of isolation and stability — and it is also what makes guaranteed updates possible.

If you want your own docker-compose, software outside the catalogue or root access, the right product is not this one but a VPS. The page managed applications or a VPS sets out exactly where the line falls.

How to choose the plan

Four plans, all giving access to the same complete catalogue — only the resources change:

  • App Découverte — 1 GB of memory, 0.5 vCPU, 10 GB of disk, €2.99/month incl. VAT. For a light application or personal use.
  • App Essentiel — 2 GB, 1 vCPU, 25 GB, €4.99/month. The most common choice.
  • App Confort — 4 GB, 2 vCPU, 50 GB, €8.99/month. The first tier that allows your own domain name.
  • App Performance — 8 GB, 4 vCPU, 100 GB, €15.99/month. For demanding applications or larger teams.
  • You can change plan later without reinstalling the application.

What actually happens, step by step

From choosing the application to your first login.

You choose the application

In the catalogue, every application states its category and the memory it genuinely needs. The recommended plan follows from that measurement, not from a theoretical minimum.

You fill in the form

Two or three fields depending on the application: the subdomain name, an administrator email address, sometimes a title. Nothing that assumes you already know the software.

We deploy

The container is created without privileges, with guaranteed resources and a disk quota. Any databases needed — MariaDB, PostgreSQL or Valkey — are created automatically and are reachable only by the application itself.

The certificate is issued

HTTPS is active as soon as the app goes live, on your subdomain. From the App Confort plan upwards you can put your own domain name in its place, certificate included.

You receive your access

An email gives you the address and the credentials. From there you use the application — we keep maintaining it in the background.
