FiveM (GTA V RP) Server Hosting in France

FiveM (GTA V RP) servers in France: high-frequency CPU, Anti-DDoS Game, txAdmin pre-installed.

Starting at €4.99/mo

Introduction

Service operated by our subsidiary Gamost, specialist in game server hosting. Ordering, panel and billing happen on gamost.com.

FiveM (GTA V Roleplay) is a dedicated multiplayer mod for Grand Theft Auto V, now the global standard for roleplay servers. French-speaking communities run tens of thousands of active players on popular RP servers. The RAGE engine is very CPU-intensive on one main core: frequency matters more than core count.

By-Hoster / Gamost offers dedicated FiveM servers in France with high-frequency CPUs (5 GHz+) (Ryzen 7000, Intel 13th-14th gen), NVMe SSD for resources and the SQL database, Anti-DDoS Game tuned for the FiveM protocol, dedicated IP and custom port. txAdmin pre-installed for a graphical management of the server.

Supported RP frameworks: QBCore, ESX Legacy, vRP 2, ND_Core and their third-party resources (Police, Ambulance, MDT, Phone, Inventory). DC-FR_NA(01) infrastructure in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, operated by our team. From €4.99/mo, no contract.

Managed or VPS: what should decide

Both roads lead to the same game, but they do not ask for the same work. A managed server at Gamost arrives with FXServer and txAdmin in place: you run the game, not the machine. A Linux VPS gives you root, and with it the freedom to install other things alongside — a test server, the community website, a Discord bot — at the cost of system administration. The question is not which is better but what you want to learn. If you hesitate, our txAdmin guide describes exactly the work the second road represents.

Why frequency beats core count

The RAGE engine runs the server logic in a largely single-threaded main loop. On every tick, that loop processes events, executes scripts and synchronises players. Anything that delays it delays everyone at once: that is the hitch your players describe as "the server lagging", even when the machine reports 70% of its CPU idle.

  • A high-frequency processor finishes each tick sooner: the loop hands back control before the next one
  • Adding cores does not shorten that loop. They serve the rest — database, resource streaming, the system itself
  • One badly written script querying the database on every tick costs more than ten extra players. FiveM's built-in profiler (resmon) names the culprit in seconds
  • Storage matters too: roleplay frameworks write to the database on every player action. NVMe keeps the loop from waiting on the disk

What Game Anti-DDoS filters, and why generic scrubbing is not enough

From a distance, game server traffic looks like an attack: many small UDP packets, sent very fast, from hundreds of addresses. Generic filtering solves that by cutting everything, your players included. Protocol-aware filtering tells a legitimate FiveM session from a flood, and lets the first through. That is what plays out on port 30120 during a roleplay evening, and it is also why the busiest servers are the most targeted. Our guide Understanding Anti-DDoS details the filtering layers; our infrastructure describes the infrastructure where they apply.

What to prepare before opening

A roleplay server that opens without these four points always comes back asking support for them the following week:

  • The Cfx.re licence key, free, created on portal.cfx.re and set in server.cfg: without it, FXServer refuses to start
  • The framework choice — QBCore or ESX Legacy — made at the start, not midway: migrating a character database from one framework to the other costs more than starting over
  • A database backup from day one. It holds the characters, vehicles and economy; the panel does not back it up for you
  • One moderation account per person, with limited rights. Action logs are worthless if the whole team shares one login

Frequently asked questions

FiveM mostly hits one CPU core. Favour frequency (GHz) over core count. 4 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB for servers with QBCore/ESX and 30+ players.

Yes. txAdmin is pre-installed and reachable from the Gamost panel (web UI on a dedicated port). Lets you manage resources, run server commands, view logs in real time, manage players (kick, ban, whitelist), schedule wipes/restarts. A must-have to run an RP server without constant SSH access.

Indicative: 32-64 slots for starting communities, 64-128 slots for established RP servers. On the resource side: 50-150 QBCore/ESX scripts (police, ambulance, jobs, phone, MDT, etc.) use 2-4 GB RAM. Plus 1 GB for MariaDB. Plan for 8 GB RAM on a 32-slot server, 16 GB RAM for 64+ slots with custom scripts.

Assisted migration: 1) Download your current server-data folder via FTP. 2) Export your MySQL database. 3) On Gamost, upload server-data to /var/www/server/, import the SQL. 4) Adjust server.cfg (paths, licence, db_connection). 5) Start. Our support can run the migration as a service, particularly useful if you come from Zap-Hosting or a foreign host.

Yes, and it is critical. Popular FiveM RP servers are routinely attacked (competition between servers, banned players seeking revenge). Our Anti-DDoS Game filters UDP packets on the FiveM port (30120 by default): protection against packet flood, SYN flood, amplification. Tbps mitigation in our DC-FR_NA(01) infrastructure. Your RP sessions are never cut.

Yes, no restriction. Every Tebex (formerly Beelite Project) script, Cfx.re Asset Escrow and free GitHub/Forum FiveM resource works. Upload via FTP or panel, add to server.cfg with ensure. Our support can help integrate complex scripts (MDT, custom jobs, persistent economy).

Game servers are operated by Gamost, our subsidiary dedicated to gaming hosting. Same technical team, same DC-FR_NA(01) infrastructure in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, but a brand and store tailored to gaming needs (low latency, gaming-grade L7 anti-DDoS, Pterodactyl panel). Ordering, panel and gaming support all run on gamost.com.
