A brochure website does not need €30/month hosting

Five to fifteen pages, a contact form, a few photos: the Web Classique plan at €3/month incl. VAT covers exactly that.

Starting at €3/month

Introduction

Last updated:

A brochure website is a home page, an about page, one or two service pages, a contact form and sometimes a blog updated twice a year. Traffic is counted in hundreds of monthly visits, not tens of thousands. It needs neither a dedicated server nor an "unlimited" plan.

The Web Classique plan at €3/month incl. VAT — 50 GB of SSD, 5 databases, 2 GB of memory — is sized for exactly that case. Below it, Web Débutant at €1/month is enough for a few pages without a blog. Above it, the Professionnel and Expert plans exist for the day traffic genuinely grows.

Everything is hosted in our own datacentre in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which we operate ourselves — a single site, described without embellishment on our infrastructure page. By-Hoster is a French non-profit association: the price you sign up at is the price you renew at, with no exception.

What a brochure site actually needs

SSD storage and a current PHP

What makes a brochure site slow is almost never the number of visitors: it is the disk, the PHP version and uncompressed images. The first two are settled by default.

Email at your own domain

contact@your-company.com reads differently on a quote than an address at gmail.com. Mailboxes are created from Plesk in a few clicks.

The padlock, without thinking about it

A Let's Encrypt certificate issued and renewed automatically. A professional site flagged "not secure" costs you enquiries, not compliments.

WordPress in one click

The Plesk installer sets up WordPress, its database and its certificate in one operation. You start in the editor, not in an FTP tutorial.

What a brochure site really costs, line by line

The usual confusion is between the cost of building the site and the cost of hosting it. The second is modest and predictable:

  • Hosting: €36 a year for Web Classique, €12 for Web Débutant.
  • Domain name: a few euros to around fifteen euros a year depending on the extension.
  • SSL certificate: included, renewed automatically.
  • Professional mailboxes: included in the hosting, not billed per user.
  • Building the site: the one variable line. If you have nobody to do it, we do — on quotation.

Shared hosting or a VPS for a brochure site

The question comes up constantly, and the answer is almost always the same: for a brochure site, shared hosting is the right call. A VPS means installing and maintaining a web server, a database, a firewall and certificates — real work, paid for either in time or in fees.

A VPS becomes relevant when the site leaves that frame: a bespoke application, a framework that needs root access, a service that must run continuously. The shared versus VPS comparison sets out where the line falls.

Between the two lies a third route that is often overlooked: managed applications. You get one specific application — a Ghost, a Nextcloud, a CRM — installed and kept up to date by us, with no server to administer.

Who hosts a brochure site with us

Trades and building companies

Job photos, service area, quote form. Local search ranking is decided by page speed and complete legal notices, not by the size of the server.

Professional practices

Lawyers, physiotherapists, architects, consultants: a presentation, opening hours, a map, a way to book. Easy!Appointments as a <a href="/applications-managees">managed application</a> handles booking once a form is no longer enough.

Shops and restaurants

An up-to-date menu beats a Facebook page you do not control. The site is yours and does not depend on a platform's rules.

Freelancers and portfolios

Developers, designers, photographers. Web Débutant at €1/month is enough for a static portfolio; move to Web Classique as soon as WordPress is involved.

Small businesses with several sites

A main brand, a secondary one, a campaign landing page: the Web Professionnel plan (8 databases, 70 GB) hosts several sites under one account.

Frequently asked questions

Hosting is active a few minutes after the order. If the site already lives with another host, migration is handled free of charge by the team and scheduled with you so there is no downtime.

Yes. You can transfer it to us, or simply point it at the hosting by changing the name servers at your current registrar. Both work.

Yes, they are part of the hosting and are created from Plesk. There is no per-mailbox billing as with subscription office suites.

No. The price you subscribe at is the renewal price. By-Hoster is an association with no shareholders: there is no margin to make up at renewal.

You change plan from the client area, without reinstalling or redeploying the site. Moving from Web Classique to Professionnel or Expert takes a few minutes.

Yes, alongside hosting: we build, then host and maintain. Ask for a quote, with no obligation.
