Introduction
WordPress installed, updated and backed up by us, on a machine in France. You install nothing and configure no server: the application is online a few minutes after you order, under your own name.
The plan that suits it is App Confort at €8.99/month incl. VAT — 4 GB of memory. WordPress itself is modest; it is the plugins that weigh. Each concurrent visitor occupies a PHP process, and that process loads the theme, the active plugins and their MySQL queries before the page is drawn. Twenty plugins, a page builder and a media library of several thousand images change the arithmetic entirely: the headroom is meant for a site that lives, not for an empty home page.
Taking over an existing site is done with one of the usual migration plugins — All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator, UpdraftPlus — which produce a single archive containing the files and the database, restored as-is onto the new installation. The native export under "Tools" only carries the content: posts, pages, comments and media references, without the theme, the plugins or the settings. And the App Confort plan lets you attach your own domain name, with its certificate.

The official repository holds tens of thousands of them, and nothing is locked: WooCommerce to sell, a contact form, an SEO plugin, a caching layer. On the hosted WordPress.com offer, that freedom is reserved for the more expensive plans.
The block editor, and the classic one if you prefer
Gutenberg assembles a page block by block with a faithful preview, and recent themes let you edit the header and footer from the same interface. The classic editor stays available for those who have made it their own.

Here you are on WordPress the software: you install what you want, and you leave with the full archive of your site the day you decide to.
No — but forty plugins and a page builder are. The ceiling is set by the hosting; where you land under that ceiling depends on what you install. A restrained theme, a caching plugin, images resized to the size actually displayed and a regular clear-out of unused plugins do more for load time than any hosting option.
Nothing. You choose the application, fill in the fields it asks for — the site title, an email address — and it goes online. The admin credentials arrive by email along with the address.
Yes, and this is the sensitive point with WordPress. The vast majority of compromised sites were not broken into through the core, but through a plugin left two years without an update. Version upgrades are applied and checked by us, core and plugins alike.
