Host IT Tools without installing anything

The tools you look up ten times a week on unknown websites — except that here everything is computed in your browser and nothing goes anywhere else.

Starting at €2.99/month

Introduction

IT Tools installed, updated and backed up by us, on a machine in France. A collection of more than sixty tools for developers: encoding, hashing, conversion, generators, formatters. Everything runs in your browser. You install nothing and configure no server: the application is online a few minutes after you order, under your own name.

The plan that suits it is App Découverte at €2.99/month incl. VAT — 1 GB of memory, and that is already generous. IT Tools is a static web application: the server merely sends it to the browser, then goes back to sleep. Every calculation — the SHA-256 digest, the RSA key pair, the IPv4 subnet, the YAML to JSON conversion — happens at your end, in the tab. No data passes through the server, which is not only a performance matter but the main argument for this application.

What gets replaced here are the online tool sites everybody reaches for by reflex, and that nobody knows who runs. Yet what we paste into them is not trivial: an authentication token, a configuration snippet, a private key, a database connection string. On an instance of your own the gesture is the same — open the tab, paste, read the result — but the content never leaves your machine. That is why several companies ban public tools and host this one instead.

What managed hosting changes

Everything is computed in your browser

The server sends the page and knows nothing more: the token you decode, the password you generate and the key you create stay on your machine. So you can paste something sensitive without wondering where it will end up, which is true of no public tool site.

Sixty tools, the ones actually used

Base64 and URL encoding, MD5 and SHA digests, bcrypt and HMAC, token and password generation, RSA key pairs, JWT reading, YAML, JSON, TOML and XML conversions, SQL formatting, QR code generation. The search bar saves scrolling through the list.

The network and system kit

IPv4 subnet calculator, address conversion, range expansion, vendor lookup from a MAC address, IPv6 prefix generator, chmod calculator, crontab expression generator, HTTP status codes. This is the part an administrator opens every day.

No account, no adverts, no limits

No sign-up, no consent banner, no quota beyond which you must upgrade, and no suggestion to click. Favourite tools move to the top of the page so they are always to hand.

Why hand it over rather than install it

Decoding a token without handing it to a stranger

A JWT holds a user's identity and permissions. Pasting it into a public site to read it is giving it away. On your instance the reading happens in the browser and the token does not leave.

Splitting a network before cabling it

How many addresses in a /27, what the broadcast address is, where the next subnet starts. The calculator answers in a second, and the result is copied straight into the equipment configuration.

A policy that bans public tools

Many companies block online tool sites, rightly, and end up with no replacement. An internal instance settles the matter without choosing between security and efficiency.

A Wi-Fi QR code for visitors

The generator produces a code you print and stick at reception: the visitor scans it and connects without anyone spelling out a twenty-character key. The same generator serves for a link or a contact card.

Writing a crontab without getting it wrong

The generator shows in plain words what the expression you are writing will trigger, and the permissions calculator does the same for a chmod. Two places where one wrong digit costs an hour of hunting.

Hosted in France

In our own infrastructure in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, which we operate ourselves. The application comes from us, it loads nothing from an outside service, and the person on the phone speaks your language.

Frequently asked questions

No. IT Tools is an application that runs entirely in the browser: the server sends the page files, and everything else happens on your machine. You can check it yourself by opening the browser developer tools and watching the network tab while you generate a key: no request goes out. That is the fundamental difference from a public tool site, where you have no way of knowing.

About sixty, arranged by family. On the cryptography side: MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 digests, bcrypt, HMAC, RSA key pairs, password and token generators, one-time codes. On the conversion side: base64 for text and files, URL encoding, HTML escaping, YAML, JSON, TOML, XML, dates, colours, text case. On the network and system side: IPv4 subnets, MAC addresses, chmod, crontab, HTTP codes, MIME types. Plus text tools, maths tools and QR code generators.

Since everything happens in the browser, nothing is kept: no history of your conversions, no account, no sharing a result through a link. Nor is it a programming interface: you cannot call these tools from a script, you need a browser and a human in front of it. A few tools ask for a browser permission, such as camera access. And the list of tools is the one the installed version ships: there is no extension system.

App Découverte, at €2.99/month incl. VAT. It provides 1 GB of memory where the application asks for 256 MB at minimum: the headroom serves the system, not the decor. You can change plan later without reinstalling.

Nothing. You choose the application, fill in the fields it asks for — often an email address and a name — and it goes online. Access arrives by email with the address and the credentials.
